We have a full moon this Saturday, and I already feel the energy. The past two nights, my dreams have been vivid and wild, which happens around the full moon.
I learned how to work with my dreams to connect with my subconscious when I was trying to get pregnant. The dream work is a tool to work with your inner world outside of thought.
I took Return to Your Core members through this practice, and today, you can do it.
Step One: Write down your dream as soon as you get up.
This time it was easy to remember details and sometimes it more vague. Write all the details since your subconscious can speak in signs and symbols.
Step Two: What is the emotion tone of the dream? Go with the first one that pops up.
Was this emotion coming from an orphan, ultimate mother, or visionary part of you? My orphan is usually trying to tell me something.
This can take some practice, so be patient as you learn this new way of communicating with yourself.
Step Three: How does that emotion relate to a current sticky situation in your life?
This is where the unseen world meets 3D. The dream and real life scenarios might be different - stay with the emotion.
Step Four: Connect with that part of yourself - as either an orphan, visionary, or an ultimate mother.
Which of these three archetypes are trying to express themselves through your dream to assist in your healing? Once you know which, connect with them through visualization or writing and ask what they want to share with you.
Today, it was an orphan. I wrote and gave her the floor to share what she is feeling and needs.
Your mind might want to make sense of the dream or this process and that’s not what point. Be curious to see what comes through when you let go and write from that part of you.

My pen flowed and a light bulb came on. A theme came to the surface giving me awareness to a pattern that continues to play out in my life.
This practice allowed me to see the root of my reactivity to a current situation in my life. Processing the dream freed up this charge and gave me greater awareness of how I can show up differently moving forward.
Full moons can illuminate stories, patterns, and habits that are ready to be laid to rest.
Step Five: Note the nugget of wisdom that came through and let go of what no longer is helpful.
At the end of my writing, I said a prayer to release this energetic hook and burned the paper (over the toilet). This is one of my favorite full moon rituals. As you burn that paper you can say, “I release all things that no longer work for me.”
To recap the 4 steps to working with your dreams
Write down your dream as soon as you get up.
What is the emotion tone of the dream? Go with the first one that pops up.
How does that emotion relate to a current sticky situation in your life?
Connect with that part of yourself - as either an orphan, visionary, or an ultimate mother.
Note the nugget of wisdom that came through and let go of what no longer is helpful.
Try it and report back.
You can do it even if you don’t remember your dreams. Write the emotion behind something that feels sticky or hard right now. Listen to that part of you. What does she need or want to say?
Write it out, burn it, and then move your body (in nature is best).
